If you are just now reading my blogs, you won't know that I have been sick for the past 4 weeks. I don't mean "blah, blah i feel like crap" sick...i mean, "oh God, please stop this violent vomiting" sick. Today marks my 12 week milestone. By next week, I will have safely slid into the 2nd trimester. YAY. However, as of today, the sickness has not dissipated. I will say that the sickness is more manageable than it was a few days ago, but still lurking around needless to say. I survived my first day of class yesterday without a vomit attack, and also survived my second class without rushing to the bathroom. I believe week 1 was a success. Mostly thanks to cliff bars, diet sprite, and tums.
I thought I would take this time to blog about my first trimester as a whole, since this is the only form of a journal or diary I am keeping. I need to remember this beautiful, wonderful time somehow. Below you will find some funny, yet true, statements about the past 12 weeks (warning, TMI):
1. Somewhere around 4-5 weeks, I suddenly became averted to vegetables. Even the word makes me gag. Have you seen the Mott's medley juice commercial with "invisible vegetables?" Yeah, well, I have seen it more than enough times and it still makes me want to puke watching it (I just ended a sentence with it, sorry). Yes, the sight, sound, or smell of vegetables is more than enough to send me into a violent hurl.
2. I didn't start vomiting until around 7 weeks, but had the nausea and sickly feeling since almost 5 weeks. I remember that first vomit very clearly...1:30 am on a Sunday night (or Monday morning). Not fun.
3. I have taken more baths in the past 12 weeks than I ever had in my entire life. Something about a warm soak just soothes my mind and body.
4. I discovered my love for Cliff bars about 2 weeks ago. Everytime I get sick, or want to avoid feeling sick, I just eat a Cliff bar and it magically disappears (for awhile).
5. Around my 3rd vomiting attack, I had an empty stomach and threw up all acid...every since then, I will not leave the house without a tums. They have saved me.
6. I have been craving anything potato...fries, chips, you name it. I used to always eat desert after every meal...since I became pregnant, I have not wanted anything sweet.
7. Bojangles spicy fries = heaven.
Well, there you have it. Sorry if there was too much information for some of you to handle. But, I needed someway to remember why I don't want to be pregnant again (well, atleast not the first 12 weeks). I am staying positive that part 2 will be SO much better.
